Union Terminal

12:00 AM

I set out on a mission to see some replications of one of the world's most iconic creators. As an architecture student in college, I had to take a lot of art history classes. This was really my first in-depth lesson into the true history of the arts. I ended up earning a minor in art history which has paved the way to a new hobby. I heard about the Da Vinci The Genius exhibit at the Union Terminal Museum in Cincinnati and immediately bought tickets! You can check it out here!

If you have not invested in a quality dress at this point in your life, its time to make the leap! I highly recommend Trina Turk as a starter. She made this dress. Made with high quality material this dress is naturally tailored to fit and with a gorgeous robins egg blue shade you'll be able to re-wear this season after season! Its versatility also allows you to wear this to a wedding, work, Sunday morning service or even a treat to the museum! Take a look at Trina's Museum Dress for this occasion too!

At my age, YES i do still feel the need to walk along the flower beds and hop around when possible. Its a perpetual 5 year old mindset. :)

The Last Supper
(1495-1498)

The Vitruvian Man
(1490)

I have always loved art museums and this exhibit was nothing short of miraculous.  Intricate reproductions detail da Vinci's wild creations depicting flying machines, underwater breathing apparatuses and even a shoe that you can walk on water in. Little did they know da Vinci was on to something HUGE. The future!

I've enjoyed breaking in these Sam Edelman Gladiator Sandals. They're quite comfortable and have held up on many summer adventures. Here is another fantastic option for you to check out! Its important to me to find a few options for you ladies. This dress from anthropologie is  a bit more casual but with a very similar silhouette.

The Mona Lisa
(1503-1504)

The Mona Lisa. She is easily the most well known woman in history and da Vinci's most studied and researched works. This exhibit outlines the supposed original look of this painting. Most people believe da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa with hues of green and brown but thats not the case. Due to centuries of aging the paint faded and cracked, her eyebrows wore off (YES she was painted with light eyebrows and eyelashes) and attempts to restore her to her original glamour actually sped up the deterioration process. I urge you to look more at the research and studies conducted on this piece to experience the full grandeur of what da Vinci intended her to look like!

Happy studying and shopping!
