In the world of girl squads (thanks Taylor) I call dibs on Stephanie. 21st century media, whether social, or physical, negativity is spreading fast. Girl Squad, or a strong group of supportive female friends that preach nothing short of girl power! Stephanie is a young woman that exudes confidence, acceptance, and is supportive of women. The memory of a bad day in middle school has shaped Stephanie's positive self-image in the present and for the future. Creating a line of feminine and wear-envy clothing is only the first dent Stephanie has made in re-directing the fashion industry and females perceptions of one another. So who else wants to be in #StephaniesSquad ?

Stephanie used this Langston Hughes poem to further extrapolate the emotional value sewn into her collection, From Within. She also used this inspirational piece as decorative art to the lining of her garments (shown below). I love that every single idea in these designer's minds is thought out and planned. As proof in these photos not an inch of any piece is forgotten nor underdeveloped. Every creative move made was eloquently planned and strategically placed which only adds to the sophistication of this ethereal collection.
The beginning stages of laser-cut fabric flower parts that Stephanie assembled to add some three dimensionality to her garments. I am really a huge fan of any detail brought to life in an unexpected way. These flowers are no exception to that rule, beauty meets vision!
Not only does highly detailed work require an extreme amount of patience and well executed craftsmanship but also an acute eye for imperfections. The amount of man hours required to achieve this level of detail is alone an extraordinary skill, on top of it, this whimsical shoulder detail set the standard and tone for this collection.
As an artist myself, I can attest to the difficulty in bringing the visions in your mind to paper then fully translating that same idea into real life. The concept is simple, the act however is very difficult.

I am beyond impressed with the amount of raw and mature emotion that went into creating this collection. Aside from the vision, craftsmanship and talent; it takes a very strong and willful individual to divulge so much. As described by Stephanie, the woman that wears this collection is graceful, kind and confident for all the right reasons. She knows you must love yourself for all that you are and that true beauty comes From Within.
